An exciting new digital coaching concept is being launched on 16th November 2020, which will bring accessible coaching to riders of all levels. Whether riders’ aims are to compete Internationally or to generally achieve a better way of going, The Dressage Coach offers a holistic programme to suit all.
The pandemic has completely changed the way riders train, compete and even care for their horses. With lives disrupted across the globe, people have turned to technology for a huge range of their daily activities. Thousands took to Joe Wicks’ workouts, so why not dressage coaching?
Classical dressage rider and BD accredited coach, Maddi Burchell, has been riding for over 30 years. In which time, she has amassed extensive knowledge, qualifications and expertise, including becoming a Centre 10 Advanced Coach and NLP Practitioner. Mindset and nutrition are at the heart of her training, as she sees the rider as an athlete and wants to provide an holistic approach to more riders at all levels. Spurred on by the pandemic and the changes that have been seen throughout the world this year, The Dressage Coach was born.
Due to launch at the end of November, The Dressage Coach is a digital coaching platform offering a range of services for all riders whether they’re an everyday rider or elite equestrian athlete. The Dressage Coach includes virtual training, mindset and performance coaching, as well as a wide range of distance learning resources. Maddi Burchell says “My aim with The Dressage Coach is to provide practical dressage coaching alongside mindset and nutritional advice for competitive and leisure riders across the country. There is not enough guidance generally for riders as athletes to support them on their dressage journey and to achieve their goals, whatever they may be.”
Live sessions are available which can be done using a phone or tablet, either with a kind helper or the strategic use of an arena wall or fence. If mobile signal is likely to be an issue, sessions can be recorded and uploaded to a secure portal to be given feedback on to work on in the next session.
Memberships are available directly from the website, with the option of a trial session allowing riders to get a feel for this brand-new concept and way of training. From as little as £20 per month, riders can gain access to a library of polework and schooling exercises, and mindset techniques, plus their 1:1 coaching session. Live sessions are available on a weekly basis at a time to fit around other commitments, plus the support of a private Facebook community to guide riders on their journey.
