Following due consideration and discussion, the MHC has taken the difficult decision to cancel the 2019/20 Melton Hunt Club Ride due to take place in Quorn Hunt country on 1st March 2020.
The MHC, in discussion with Ride sponsor Chestnut Horse Feeds, the Quorn Hunt and its farmers and landowners, has made this decision in the light of the unprecedented weather and ground conditions experienced this season.
MHC Chairman, Joey Newton commented, “The agricultural work to be carried out by farmers between now and the spring is extensive and it is out of respect for the ongoing situation that this decision has been arrived at by all parties involved.’
Preparation of the course will continue as planned and it is proposed that the Ride will take place this autumn in Quorn Hunt country – date to be confirmed.
As stated previously, all entries already made will be honoured by the MHC for the new date. Any further information can be supplied by Joey Newton [email protected]
