Sometimes referred to as the “Blue Riband” of the turf, the Epsom Derby is the most prestigious of the five classics and serves as the middle leg of the historically significant ‘Triple Crown’ of British horse racing. Recent winners of the Derby include iconic jockeys such as Frankie Dettori, Ryan Moore, and Kieron Fallon with legendary horses like Galileo, Shergar and Nijinsky all triumphing on the Downs. HRH The Queen is also a regular attendee of the Epsom Derby, and such is her regard for this event, the Cazoo Derby Festival will form part of the official Platinum Jubilee celebrations this summer.
